Lipidomics MALDI Imaging Service
Lipidomics MALDI imaging mass spectrometry (MALDI-IMS) is a powerful tool for studying the distribution of lipids in tissues. MALDI is an ion source that is highly compatible with thin tissue sections, making it widely used for direct analysis of tissue samples. The advantages of MALDI imaging mass spectrometry MALDI-IMS include: 1) simplified extraction steps; 2) reduced sample loss; 3) elimination of derivatization processes; 4) allows for spatial organization and distribution information.
Using MALDI, a wide range of different categories of endogenous lipids can be imaged. For most of these lipids, mass spectrometry imaging is the only method to study their spatial distribution. Given the importance of lipidomics in studying developmental or pathological processes in tissue sections, MALDI imaging can serve as a useful tool for biomarker discovery.

Lipidomics MALDI Imaging
Biotech company Bruker Daltonics provides fast, reliable, and cost-effective lipidomics MALDI imaging services, capable of detecting thousands of lipids. The detection results provide a histological map of lipid biomolecules localized and identified based on mass-to-charge ratio (m/z). Imaging data can be normalized to total ion current to calculate lipid abundance and used for statistical analysis.
