Sequence Analysis
Proteins are formed by the dehydration condensation of multiple amino acids linked together. Amino acids are the basic building blocks of proteins, and their sequence represents the primary structure of a protein. The primary structure of a protein determines its other higher-order structures and defines its function. Therefore, sequence analysis of proteins aids in the analysis of protein structure and function.

Sequence Analysis
Protein sequence analysis techniques can be primarily divided into mass spectrometry-based and non-mass spectrometry-based methods. Mass spectrometry can be used for protein terminal (N-terminal or C-terminal) sequencing, full sequence determination, de novo sequencing, and mutation analysis. Among non-mass spectrometry methods, the most famous is the Edman degradation method, which is mainly used for N-terminal sequencing of proteins.
