BiotechPack primarily uses the Fmoc synthesis method for peptide synthesis. The Fmoc method uses Fmoc as the α-amino protecting group, with side chain protection using benzylic alcohols. During synthesis, an Fmoc-amino acid derivative is covalently linked to the resin, Fmoc is removed with a base, the free amino terminal is neutralized with triethylamine, then the next amino acid is activated with DCC and coupled. Deprotection is often done using HF or TFMSA (trifluoromethanesulfonic acid) methods.
