Amino Acid Composition Analysis

Amino acid analysis can determine the composition and content of amino acids in protein (peptide) drugs, and can also identify atypical amino acids in protein (peptide) drugs. Amino acid composition analysis is a necessary step before complete protein sequencing, and it provides strong evidence for confirming the primary structure of proteins. Based on amino acid derivatization technology and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), BiotechPack provides efficient and accurate analysis services for the amino acid composition of protein (peptide) drugs. The service mainly includes two important steps: 1) Hydrolyzing protein and peptide samples into individual amino acids; 2) Pre-column derivatization, BiotechPack uses phenyl isothiocyanate (PITC) for derivatization of the obtained amino acids, and performs gradient elution of the derivatives using high-performance liquid chromatography, allowing the separation of different amino acid derivatives, and determines the content of each amino acid derivative through external standard methods, thereby obtaining information on the composition and content of amino acids in protein samples.
