Carbohydrates and Sugar Metabolism

BTP - Analysis of Carbohydrates and Metabolites Related to Carbohydrate Metabolic Pathways

Carbohydrate metabolism plays a crucial role in many biochemical processes. What exactly are carbohydrates? According to Wikipedia, carbohydrates are organic compounds that are polyhydroxy aldehydes or ketones and their derivatives, which can exist in linear or cyclic forms. The basic building blocks of carbohydrates include monosaccharides such as galactose, fructose, and the critically important glucose. These substances play significant roles in energy storage and transport as well as serving as structural components in life processes. BiotechPack utilizes the GC/MS (7890A/5975C) and ACQUITY UPLC/TripleQuad5500 (Waters/AB Sciex) platforms in combination to achieve quantitative and qualitative analysis of various carbohydrates and metabolites related to carbohydrate metabolism, with 95% of the substances quantified using standards and isotopic standards.

The body's carbohydrate metabolic pathways mainly include anaerobic glycolysis and aerobic oxidation of glucose, the pentose phosphate pathway, the uronic acid pathway, the polyol pathway, glycogen synthesis and breakdown, gluconeogenesis, and other hexose metabolism. For example, the primary physiological function of glycolysis is to rapidly provide energy under anaerobic conditions. The tricarboxylic acid cycle, also known as the citric acid cycle, is a common metabolic pathway where carbohydrates, fats, and proteins are completely oxidized in the body.

BTP can detect carbohydrates and metabolites related to carbohydrate metabolic pathways

After years of technical accumulation, BiotechPack's technicians use ACQUITY UPLC/TripleQuad5500 (Waters/AB Sciex) combined with standards for carbohydrates and related metabolites, along with isotopic standards for quantitative and qualitative analysis:

About Samples

Serum, plasma, urine, bile, bile acids;
Cells, liver, brain tissues, and other animal tissues, as well as feces, etc.;
Plants, yeast, microorganisms, etc.
Sample Requirement:
Blood samples, bile, etc.: 10 microliters
Various tissues: 10 milligrams
Feces, etc.: 10 milligrams
For other sample types and quantities, please contact BiotechPack sales.
Sample Transportation:Based on the evaporation of 3-4 kg of dry ice per day, please use sufficient dry ice for transportation (it is recommended to use larger blocks of dry ice, as they evaporate more slowly), and seal with a foam box. Opt for the fastest possible delivery method to minimize the risk of sample degradation during transportation.

Bilingual Project Report (Chinese/English)

In the technical report, BiotechPack provides you with a detailed bilingual (Chinese/English) technical report, which includes:

1. Experimental Procedures (Chinese/English)
2. Related Mass Spectrometry Parameters (Chinese/English)
3. Quantitative or Qualitative Information of Identified Substances
4. Mass Spectrometry Images
