Sample Proteomics
Common samples in proteomics include cell samples, tissue samples, and body fluid samples. Cell samples encompass animal cells, plant cells, fungi, bacteria, and other microbial cells. Tissue samples include animal tissues and plant tissues, while body fluid samples encompass serum, plasma, and urine. Additionally, samples for proteomics research can come from protein spots, gel strips, IP or Co-IP samples, paraffin-embedded samples, exosomes, subcellular fractions, etc. In general, any sample containing a proteome can be used for proteomics research. However, different samples may require different preparation methods when used in proteomics research. When subsequently using mass spectrometry for proteomics research, sample preparation primarily needs to focus on avoiding protein contamination and using reagents and solutions compatible with the mass spectrometer.
