Exosome Proteomics
Exosomes are one of the common extracellular vesicles (EVs) with a diameter of 30-150 nm. They primarily originate from multivesicular bodies formed by the inward budding of lysosomal micro-particles within the cell. These bodies release exosomes into the extracellular matrix, such as tissues and various biological fluids, including serum/plasma, cerebrospinal fluid, and urine (in vivo). Additionally, exosomes can also exist in culture media under certain conditions in vitro. Extracellular vesicles play important roles in various physiological processes. Compared with general extracellular vesicles, we still do not fully understand the function of exosomes in the field of clinical biomarkers. With the development of exosome isolation technology, interest in this field has been growing, and it is expected that more research will be conducted on the detailed functions and applications of exosomes in disease pathology.
Exosomes mainly contain complex mixtures of proteins, lipids, and RNA. The content and function of exosomes from different biological fluids also vary. Among these components, proteins play a crucial role in biological functions. Therefore, proteomic analysis of exosomes from different biological samples is significant for biomarker discovery and clinical diagnosis.
BaiTaiPaiKe Biotechnology provides professional and comprehensive exosome proteomics analysis services. We can identify and quantify proteins within exosomes, and through bioinformatics analysis of proteomics data, biomarker detection can be achieved.
