Human blood, an important biofluid sample in the field of metabolomics research, is mainly divided into plasma and serum. Compared to plasma, serum does not contain fibrinogen and has a simpler composition, containing more than 1000 endogenous small molecule metabolites. It is an important biofluid sample for metabolomics. Due to the diversity and wide polarity range of small molecule metabolites in serum, including highly polar amino acids, glucose, and nucleosides, as well as low-polarity lipids and sterols, the complexity of metabolite composition increases the difficulty of serum sample analysis. Therefore, similar to plasma, the pre-treatment process of serum is relatively complex.

Sample Preservation
500μl/case (not less than 200μl/case), avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. (Blood should be collected in a centrifuge tube and allowed to clot for 30 minutes. Then centrifuge and collect the supernatant into a clean centrifuge tube, centrifuge again for 5 minutes at 8000rpm, aliquot the supernatant into cryovials, 0.5ml per tube, and send in frozen at -80℃)
