Transcriptome Sequencing

The transcriptome is a collection of the complete set of transcripts within a cell under specific developmental stages or physiological conditions. The main purpose of transcriptome sequencing is to classify all transcripts, including mRNAs, non-coding RNAs, and small RNAs; determine the transcription structure of genes based on gene start sites, 5' and 3' ends, splicing patterns, and other post-transcriptional modifications; and quantify the changes in the expression levels of each transcript during development and under different conditions. Understanding the transcriptome is essential for interpreting the functional components of the genome, uncovering the molecular composition of cells and tissues, and understanding development and disease. It has been widely applied in basic research, clinical diagnostics, and drug development.
