Tryptophan

BTP-Tryptophan Metabolism Related Substance Analysis

In animal bodies, tryptophan metabolism has two sources: one is endogenous amino acids from the breakdown of tissue proteins, accounting for about 2/3; the other is exogenous amino acids absorbed from the diet, accounting for about 1/3. Tryptophan metabolism has two pathways: synthesis of tissue proteins and catabolism. The absorption half-life of tryptophan is 1.73 hours, and the clearance half-life is 0.73 to 0.74 hours, with a bioavailability of 76%. Tryptophan is closely related to various nutrients such as carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, and trace elements during metabolism. Tryptophan is an essential amino acid supplied by dietary proteins. Besides forming proteins within the body, tryptophan is a precursor to serotonin, an important neurotransmitter, and kynurenine, leading to the production of niacin, CO2, kynurenic acid, and xanthurenic acid. Tryptophan metabolism in different tissues is related to various physiological functions. The liver regulates tryptophan balance by degrading excess tryptophan. Immune cells participate in the degradation of tryptophan into kynurenine, playing a key role in immune responses during infection, inflammation, immune reactions, and pregnancy. In the gut and brain, serotonin synthesis from tryptophan can affect susceptibility to mood disorders.
BaiTaiParker has established an analytical method based on ACQUITY UPLC/TripleQuad5500 (Waters/AB Sciex), capable of quantitative and qualitative analysis of multiple tryptophan metabolism-related substances.

BTP can detect tryptophan metabolites

Technicians at BaiTaiParker, with years of technical accumulation, use ACQUITY UPLC/TripleQuad5500 (Waters/AB Sciex) combined with standard substances of tryptophan and related substances, along with isotopic standards of tryptophan and related substances for quantitative and qualitative analysis:

About Samples

Serum, plasma, urine, bile, bile acids;
Cells, liver, brain tissue, and other animal tissues and feces, etc.;
Plants, yeast, microorganisms, etc.
Sample Requirements:
Blood samples, bile, etc.: 10 microliters
Various tissues: 10 milligrams
Feces, etc.: 10 milligrams
For other sample types and amounts, please contact BaiTaiParker sales.
Sample Transportation:Based on the evaporation of 3-4 kg of dry ice per day, please use an adequate amount of dry ice for transportation (it is recommended to use larger blocks of dry ice, as larger blocks evaporate more slowly), and seal with a foam box. Try to choose the fastest delivery method possible to minimize the potential degradation of samples during transport.

Bilingual Project Report (Chinese/English)

In the technical report, BaiTaiParker will provide you with a detailed bilingual technical report in Chinese and English, including:

1. Experimental procedures (Chinese/English)
2. Related mass spectrometry parameters (Chinese/English)
3. Quantitative or qualitative information of identified substances
4. Mass spectrometry images
5. Raw data
