Case Illustration
Introduce the prepared sample into the SEC system. Large molecules are eluted first as they cannot enter the pores, while small molecules are eluted later as they enter the interior of the pores. The eluted sample from the SEC column then flows into the MALS detector. The MALS detector calculates the absolute molecular weight of the sample by scattering laser light across the sample and measuring the intensity of the scattered light from multiple angles. Finally, the MALS raw data is analyzed by data analysis software to obtain molecular weight and aggregation information of the sample.
