Q-Orbitrap Mass Spectrometry (Q-Orbitrap MS)
The quadrupole Orbitrap mass spectrometer (Q-Orbitrap MS) is one of the hybrid instruments based on Fourier transform, in which the first mass analyzer is a quadrupole and the second is a high-resolution Orbitrap. Unlike the hybrid linear ion trap Orbitrap mass spectrometer (LTQ-Orbitrap MS), the Q-Orbitrap MS can combine the high-performance quadrupole precursor selection with high-resolution, accurate mass (HR/AM) Orbitrap detection, and precursor ions can be dissociated by introducing high-energy collision dissociation (HCD).
Quadrupole Orbitrap Mass Spectrometer
This hybrid mass spectrometer is designed for high-confidence non-targeted or targeted screening, enabling the identification and quantification of compounds with higher confidence, producing a wide range of qualitative and quantitative outcomes:
1. Metabolic analysis in new drug development: high-throughput DMPK studies, metabolic product structure identification, rapid response metabolic product screening, and high-confidence drug impurity analysis;
2. Large-scale metabolomics analysis: proteomics analysis of all categories of metabolites;
3. Analysis of environmental and food samples;
4. Clinical research and forensic toxicology.
