What is the difference between SDS-PAGE and Western blot?
SDS-PAGE is an electrophoresis method for separating proteins based on their mass. Western blotting is an analytical technique used to detect specific proteins in a complex protein mixture, where gel electrophoresis is often used as the first step in the procedure to separate target proteins. SDS-PAGE is currently the most common type of gel electrophoresis used for western blotting.
