Protein Purification - What is the recommended filter pore size for sample filtration before loading?
For sample preparation prior to chromatography, the pore size of the filter should be selected based on the bead size of the chromatographic medium. For chromatographic media with particle sizes of 90µm or greater—use a 1µm filter pore size; for 30 or 34µm particle sizes—use a 0.45µm filter pore size; for 3µm, 10µm, and 15µm particle sizes, or when ultra-clean samples or sterile filtration are required—use a 0.22µm filter pore size;
