How to Analyze Protein Gel
SDS-PAGE (Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate-Polyacrylamide Gel Electrophoresis) is an important method for detecting the complexity of protein samples, protein purity, and their molecular weight. It can be used to separate protein mixtures in samples before downstream detection or analysis. Protein gels are the medium for protein gel electrophoresis and include separating gels and stacking gels. SDS-PAGE gel analysis involves dissolving the sample, after weighing, in SDS, causing the proteins to denature. Under the influence of the electrophoresis field, proteins are separated and purified based on the principle that the migration rate of proteins is linearly related to the logarithm of their molecular weight.
After SDS-PAGE electrophoresis, the obtained protein gel is analyzed using a gel imaging system, providing information on newly detected or missing proteins, protein spot quantification, isoelectric point (pI), and relative molecular weight (Mr) values. By analyzing this information, preliminary analysis and identification of protein size, sample purity, and protein types are conducted.
Biotech Company Bio-Tech offersprotein separation based on SDS-PAGEservices. After SDS-PAGE electrophoresis, an electrophoretic profile of the protein samples is obtained. Combined with other mass spectrometry-based protein identification services, the samples are analyzed or purified for proteomic analysis of complex biological samples. You only need to inform us of your experimental objectives and send your samples; we will handle all subsequent project matters, including sample purification (removing DNA and RNA, reducing disulfide bonds, proteins), eliminating high-abundance proteins in the samples, and protein extraction, purification, concentration, and enzymatic digestion.
