Peptide Synthesis - How to Purify Peptides?
Crude peptides can be purified using RP-HPLC. The purification process, especially for longer peptides, can be challenging because minor by-products that are very similar to the product must be removed. Therefore, so-called continuous chromatography processes (such as MCSGP) are increasingly used in commercial settings to maximize yield without sacrificing purity levels. Common purification methods include automated reverse-phase high-performance liquid chromatography, ion exchange chromatography, and size exclusion chromatography.
