Protein Electrophoresis Band Analysis
Protein electrophoresis band analysis refers to the subsequent identification and analysis of protein bands after electrophoresis. The analysis mainly includes identifying protein molecular weight, types, content, primary structure, post-translational modifications such as modification types, modification sites, and modification levels.
Complex mixed protein samples are separated into different protein bands after electrophoresis, allowing different proteins to be separated. Based on the position and width of the protein bands in the gel after electrophoresis, a preliminary identification of the protein's molecular weight and content can be made. Further identification is required to obtain accurate molecular weight and content data, as well as more information about the protein.
Biotechnology company Biotage uses the Thermo Fisher Q Exactive HF mass spectrometry platform combined with Nano-LC chromatography to provide rapid and efficientproteinelectrophoresis band analysisservice packages, which can perform subsequent qualitative and quantitative identification on protein bands from 1D-SDS PAGE and protein spots from 2DE PAGE.
