What is the difference between transcriptome sequencing and RNA-seq?
Transcriptome sequencing and RNA-seq generally refer to the same technology.
In some literature, 'transcriptome sequencing' may be used as a general term for all types of transcriptomic research methods, including RNA-seq and other possible transcriptome sequencing methods (such as single-cell RNA-seq, targeted RNA sequencing, etc.). However, in most cases, transcriptome sequencing specifically refers to transcriptomic research utilizing high-throughput sequencing technology, namely RNA-seq.
